Scraping Noise From the Freezer Fan
Check these before you call anyone

Open the doors and listen. On cabinets where the circulating fan stops with the door, the scrape stops with it; a sound that carries on with the doors open is coming from somewhere else.

Clear one shelf and look straight at the rear panel. Ice built out as far as the panel is ice built into the fan housing behind it, because they are the same deposit.

Make sure no bag or carton is leaning on that back wall. A package held against the panel muffles the sound one week and feeds the frost causing it the next.

What the sound is made of
Behind the rear panel sits a small fan whose only job is to push air over the cold coil and back into the box. It turns in a moulded housing with very little clearance at the blade tips, which is what keeps it quiet.
Frost takes that clearance away. As ice thickens on the coil and the surfaces beside it, the gap closes until the two touch. First contact is intermittent, so the sound comes and goes; a week on it is constant.
Why this is a good moment to call
A scrape is an early warning with a cheap ending. The ice can be thawed, its cause found, and the fan often left in service, because a blade that has only brushed ice is undamaged. Leave it a month and three things shift together: the tips wear, the motor draws harder against the drag, and the box warms because the air has stopped moving.
